DROP IN TRANSPARENCY BEGINNERS

The eventual demise in camera club transparency competitions was indicated by the small number of entries in the beginners class in the opening competition last week.
Just three members competed in the section and the nine entries were all from long-established club members but the evening judged by a regular face at Leigh, Patrick Higham from Maldon, was still a great success with 57 entries from 19 members in the advanced class.

There were some outstanding entries from the likes of David Davenport and Lynn Tait,  who have not yet gone digital. The judge said that with the price of digital projectors  dropping so rapidly and their improved projection  quality he personally thought that in three or four years' time  a combined section for digitalised slides and prints would be the norm in clubs.
