BOOK A DATE FOR A VERY SPECIAL ANNUAL EXHIBITION

(Note: This is archive material. The show is over for 2006-7 Season)

September 6 is set to be a very special date in the history of Leigh Camera Club for two reasons.

The 78th annual exhibition of the club will be staged   at Leigh Community Centre in Elm, Road, Leigh, on   that evening from 6pm to 10pm. This year’s annual exhibition  has  attracted the biggest entry ever of 420 prints in the 12  classes for colour and monochrome prints and this will  also  be the first ever annual staged at the start of a new season instead of at  the usual end of season.

Staging it in this way the club hopes some newcomers to photography will be so impressed by the entries  that they will sign up for the new season which will feature a nice mix of talks and demonstrations on all aspects  of photography,  competitions for members of every standard and the  opportunity to join special club groups learning about digital photography, computer processing and studio  groups.

The club also offers a large library of photographic books for the use of members and best of all the chance to meet in  a friendly atmosphere at the Thursday meetings at the centre  with a group  of  fellow enthusiasts.

The actual exhibition will feature  350 of the prints entered  owing to lack of space but every member who entered prints will have examples  of their work on show    including, of course,  all the winning prints. The 141 slide entries in the exhibition will be shown  on a large screen  between 9pm and 10pm with comments on the winning slides in the eight sections
