PRESIDENT TAKES UP CHALLENGE

Leigh Camera Club President Jeff Goodman certainly took up the Challenge in the competition for the two Club Challenge Trophies at the club on Thursday (March 6).

This was for the shields  for the only set subject competition  for prints and slides.

The subject this year was  Patterns and Textures and there was an excellent entry of especially taken shots by members both old and new in the prints,  while  there were  fewer entries in the slide section they were also generally of a high standard.

Jeff Goodman’s three slides took the shield for transparencies and he came third in the print class, which was strongly contested, with Peter Harding just pipping Jenni Bowers for first place with Jeff a close third.

Peter Mills and the ever reliable David Davenport were second and third in the transparency section.

Judge Mike Fuller from Benfleet , who is a highly respected judge on the circuit, faced a difficult task for this was a very subjective competition but provided an excellent competitive evening by any standard.
